How to Play Monopoly Over the Internet

I have noticed that many people do not know how to set up the Monopoly game over the Internet. These people ask how, and I have decided to post it up here (more or less) permanently.

To join to a game hosted by someone else:

1. Start the Monopoly game and start a new game.
2. Click player 1, choose "Player on this computer", and type your name (as you would like to be during the game).
3. Click Okay and then choose a token.
4. Click player 2 and choose "Friend on Internet/Network".
5. It will ask for your IP (Internet) address. Hit "Internet/LAN Auto Detect" and then click Okay.
6. When it asks you to either join or host a game, choose join.
7. Enter the IP address of the hosting player (which they should have given you), and then click Okay.
8. Wait for the hosting player to accept you. If he or she doesn't- sorry! (You can be rejected.)
9. When the host decides to start the game with the current number of connected players, the game will begin.
